Pre & Post Care
Pre-Care
-
Hair Length: Ensure your hair is at least 1/4 inch long (about the size of a grain of rice) for the best waxing results. Avoid shaving for at least 2-3 weeks before your appointment.
-
Avoid Sun Exposure: Refrain from tanning or prolonged sun exposure for at least 48 hours before your waxing appointment to avoid skin sensitivity and irritation.
-
Moisturize: Keep your skin moisturized leading up to your appointment, but do not apply any lotions, oils, or creams on the day of your waxing.
-
Clean Skin: Arrive with clean, dry skin free of any lotions, oils, deodorant, or other products on the area to be waxed.
-
Pain Management: If you have a low pain threshold, consider taking an over-the-counter pain reliever 30-45 minutes before your appointment to help reduce discomfort.
-
Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment to avoid irritation of the freshly waxed area afterward.
-
Inform About Medications: Inform your technician if you are taking any medications that may affect your skin’s sensitivity, such as antibiotics or topical creams containing retinoids.
-
Avoid Other Treatments: Do not schedule any other skin treatments, such as chemical peels or microdermabrasion, in the same week as your waxing appointment.
-
Discontinue taking Accutane for at least 8-12 months prior to your treatment.
-
If you cannot take a break for for retinol products or are currently taking accutane medication, please book in for a threading appointment instead!
